The Big Chill...

He's youthful, attractive to some and well spoken when prepared. He seems personable. So why do I feel a sense of foreboding whenever I see or hear this man?
My 87 year old mother jokingly refers to him as the Anti-Christ. Others have met him and shaken his hand and felt the same sense of something "wrong". I know it just chills me sometimes picturing this man at the helm of the most powerful corporate/government on the planet.
Something took a peek at us when he calmly and coldly remarked "You're likable enough". The unblinking story of his never having heard his preachers make hate filled statements about his country and race baiting gave us another look. His carefully worded condemnation of his grandmother and indeed all typical white people made me sigh instinctively. The soulless backstabbing eradication of all the competition during his early political outings while pretending regret at the process all stated clearly, calmly "above the fray". His personal associations with known terrorists and criminals all dismissed with the same innocence and coolness. His unreported desire to rid our country of an electocracy; his complete reversal on FISA; his denial of pandering to each and every group while asking us to disbelieve our lying eyes and ears, coolly maintaining his positions don't waver. Routinely taking credit for other's work without apology. His "I'll leave it to others to think about that" and in the next breath " but I would like to point out" as if that absolved him of playing dirty politics. There is something not real about him and even pointing out what I wrote above, I cannot put my finger on it. Things don't add up and at the level of power he seeks, that is frightening and gives me the chills.
Maybe it's nothing more than his breathtaking arrogance which writes itself on the chalkboard of my sensibilities with a hair raising screech. I need to read more. Maybe history will have the answer.

I feel the same foreboding. And for the same reasons.

The Empty Suit is not completely empty. It contains a Shadow.

I think Obama is narcissistic -- it's hard to tell what ideology anchors him because he has never really had to be part of a movement or a cause OUTSIDE of his own version of get-ahead politics.

If he is elected , I believe history will be like Germany. It will not be the Jews , it will be the people that don't fall in line with him.

You are absolutely correct. The possibility that this illusion may become President terrifies me.

And he is an illusion. A candidate of smoke and mirrors and backroom discussions.

A candidate with a fabricated background, put up on a pedestal for all to be ordered to admire, adore and bow down to.

Although it may sound dramatic, for the first time in my life, I feel a sense of doom for our country.

No deal!

I lived in Hyde Park for 5 years, before BO stole the seat from Alice Palmer. I know a lot about dirty Chicago politics and BO is a master at backstabbing, say anything and mean nothing politics. The fact that he has conned millions into thinking that he is something different and actually cares about anyone but himself just speaks to the stupidity and naivite of the U.S. voter.

Excellent post. And it says exactly what I feel. As a matter of fact that is what is eating at stomach everyday.

I had the same gut reaction to Obama I had to G.W. Bush and Cheney at first. Even after 9/11 when many people felt scared/patriotic and voted for Bush a second term, I couldn't vote for him anymore than I could vote for him the first time. I held my nose (yet AGAIN, sigh) and voted for Kerry.

My instincts say something isn't right here and every single time I haven't listened to my instincts in life I have dearly regretted it. This will be the first time in my life I won't be voting at all, or voting for another party.

BO is a puppet, I am almost of afraid to see who is holding the strings. We should be afraid...very afraid!

Listen to your mother.
This man is scary - no two ways about it. He's been a poseur all his life and has no moral compass. He swivels to whichever position is most popular at the moment. He will not stand for America. He cannot see past the end of his arrogant nose. Pray you are never in a lifeboat with BO because he'll push you out without a second thought.

Come on DJack my turn.

I am waiting for him to throw the Kennedys' under the bus, won't surprise me in the least!

Did I win????

You are right, this selected candidate is scary and most definitely has, imo, narcissistic personality disorder. I wouldn't be surprised if MO has it, too. NPD's tend to stick together.

My gut instinct tells me of a very negative energy and unpleasant aura about BHO - stay far, far away.

I think this is my first comment here, and i read you at other fine places, too. You do good, DJ. :)

And what's all this about winning something? As long as BHO isn't!

That dude is bad news. I've always known that. He made me uneasy even then. How did someone SO unqualified even become a contender?!? Why is no one in a position of power more distressed about this?

Gah, I want my Big Dawg back.

I am so turned off by him, that I would readily have four more years of a Bush/Cheney Administration, than one day of a BO Administration.

There's something very wrong with him and I'd hate for us to find out exactly what it is while he's sitting in the chair behind the "cool" desk.

He scares me more than Bush. I sense an evil about him that I don't quite know how to describe.

Excellent post and I always enjoy reading your posts on bitterpolitizs.

Ok DJack, another time and another comment. JUST SAY NO , . I really do enjoy reading your articles. Thanks

Obambi is evil, no doubt about it. Terrifies me like no other before him. Big brother. I will never forget Judas saying "obama knows who was for him before the nomination, obama knows, and there will be a price to pay". What an As*. Here all along i thought Judas was this jolly, peaceful kind of guy and he ended up being a clone of Satan...

After reading an excellent post the other day at The Confluence, I do think he has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Nonetheless, I still think he's a stealth candidate - and I am very afraid of his real unknown agenda, and of those supporting him in his effort to bring it to pass.

The Empty Suit is not completely empty. It contains a Shadow.

Every day I hope and pray that America wakes up and realizes the kind of change he really wants.

He is a too far left radical. He can pretend to be whatever he wants, I know what he is.

Now imagine him with a Democratic controlled House, Senate, and possibly the Supreme Court. Although this may have been a dream come true, I stress may have been, with the right person, with this man it is very scary.

History does have the answer in the form of the Hitler youth movement. I know, I know, you get in a lot of trouble for raising the spectre of Hitler when talking about a present day politician. You are either denigrating the tragedy of the Halocaust or making ridiculous and incomprehensible associations between a truly evil leader and one, in the present day, that you just don't like. But, the only, only shred of good that came from those dark days of world history is the information that will allow all of us to be stronger and more able to resist propaganda, sublimation, iconagraphy and grand speeches in front of thousands of adorers (or are they music and beer lovers?)

The similarities between the Obama campaign and Nazism are strong enough that we must look closely at the two campaigns, at the two leaders to learn what we can learn and to resist when we need to resist.

I feel like he will be exposed and before November. October surprise cooming for sure.

My mother is 87 years old also, and she thinks Obama is the anti-Christ as well. She doesn't say it jokingly, however, she is dead serious.

I have several friends who are psychics, and they get the worst feelings from him!! They were telling me this way back when—the first time he appeared on stage. At first I thought they were over-reacting. But as time has progressed, I can see they were right along.

His is the behavioir of a social psychopath. I was listening to him on NPR this morning talking about his "faith". There is no commitment there, no passion. He has decided that it will help him to be elected if we believe he has faith. He is cold and without conscience. What I see when I look at him is raw and unbridled ambition.
